Helping our dogs fit into a human society
Dog training with a difference based in Monmouthshire
Modern dog training which is based on scientific methods. All positive, all force free.
Parker's Canine Care and Training was established in 2008 and has been designed to help owners build a relationship with their dog which is built on communication, respect and trust. Sarah is the founder of Parker's Canine Care and is a qualified training instructor, her mission is to help you communicate clearly, understand what your dog needs and ultimately think dog, be their advocate, trainer, family and team mate. Successful training can only be achieved in a positive and calm mind set. Emotion drives behaviour, your dogs emotional needs must be understood and met.
By using positive reinforcement to increase desired behaviours Sarah will make living together more enjoyably. Training gives freedom to the dog and piece of mind to the owner.

1 to 1 Training sessions
The first visit we have a consultation to decide what we work on and how many sessions we need and where to work. This is all dependent on the individual needs. Maybe the one visit is all you need or maybe we need to work through a number of things. I love 1 to 1 sessions as we can work in the home or/and out and about.
£50 for the first session
£35 for every further session needed
all with follow up notes and videos.

For anxious dogs
A Safe Space where owners are in the same boat. A place where we can build on positive exposure, each time building confidence and resilience to your anxious dog.
Stress on daily walks can really take its toll on your dog. Everytime your dog has a stressful encounter the sympathetic nervous system is engaged and priming the body with norepinephrine and adrenaline ready for the amygdala to make its decision. Even if your dog hardly reacts the dogs heart rate has increased, blood vessel have restricted and all the nerve ending are fully wired.
These experiences not only cause a negative association and reduce your dogs confidence they create a stress response which while in full swing reduces the function of other organs, it can slow down the digestive system for example and if not helped create chronic stress. It can even prevent reproduction. The body cant function to its fullest when its sympathetic nervous is continually engaged.
Here at Safe Space we avoid that from happening because we are all at a distance and distance s key, I shall explain all things anxiety to you on the day. I shall come and walk with you (if your dog doesn’t mind) find out about your dog, teach you some pattern games and offer tips on day to day management.
The safe Space where everyone is in the same boat
